About SMILE
Supporting families who need it most.
We support families of children with disabilities and serious illness across Lanarkshire, giving them a break, a community, and a reason to smile.
Our Mission
Why SMILE exists.
Our vision is to open a tranquil respite facility in Lanarkshire where families with children who have disabilities or serious illness can relax, have fun, and spend quality time together making memories.
“We understand that sometimes the memories are all that are left, and are priceless. We offer our families mindfulness sessions and alternative therapies, a time to relax, reflect, and improve their mental health.”Wendy Meek, CEO and Founder
Our Values
What guides everything we do.
Family first
Every decision we make starts with what is best for the families we serve.
Community
We build connections so no family ever feels isolated in what they are going through.
Compassion
We listen, we care, and we show up, because that is what families need most.
Want to get involved?
There are many ways to support SMILE, from donating to volunteering to fundraising.

Our Ambassador
Kenny McLean.
We are absolutely thrilled to have Scotland National Team hero and Norwich City FC star Kenny McLean as our charity ambassador. Fresh off scoring the historic winning goal that sent Scotland to the World Cup, Kenny has become a national icon and a symbol of determination, pride, and heart.
His commitment on the pitch is matched only by his passion for supporting children and families with serious illness and disability, which is why we are truly honoured to welcome him into the SMILE family.
